Villa Melograno is located in the unmistakable scenery of the Val di Noto, in the south-eastern part of Sicily, close to historic sites such as the Baroque towns of Ragusa Ibla, Modica and Scicli, all UNESCO World Heritage Sites for their exceptional example of Baroque art. Marina di Ragusa, a renowned seaside resort on the southern coast in the province of Ragusa, is famous for its sandy beaches, crystal clear waters and well-kept facilities. The town offers a lively day and night life, with shops, ice cream parlours, pastry shops, bars and clubs on the seafront. The owner of the villa enriches the accommodation offer with the nearby historic beach club, Lido Azzurro, and with the Michelin-starred (since 2008) restaurant, the Locanda Don Serafino in Ragusa Ibla. Villa il Melograno is part of an elegant complex of seven terraced villas, located 3 km from the centre of Marina di Ragusa and 400 m from the free beaches of golden sand. The villas, designed in harmony with the context and sustainable thanks to the use of solar energy, use refined materials such as wood and glass. The independent villa, with a modern and contemporary design, is characterised by large windows and numerous direct accesses to the outside through large French windows, creating a natural fluidity between the internal and external spaces. The interiors, furnished with modern sofas and armchairs suitable for both indoors and outdoors, and a mobile dining table, are designed to ensure fluidity and dynamism. The open-plan living room with kitchen overlooks the garden and the swimming pool and has a hot tub located on the roof. NB: the villa is connected to the adjacent Villa Carrubbo. If both villas are booked together, it is possible to go from one villa to the other not only through the main entrances, but also via a lockable door located in the garden.
Interior:
The villa, 80 square meters and fully air-conditioned, is on one level. The main entrance opens onto a large open-space area that includes the living area, with lounge and smart TV, the dining area with a table for 6 people and a compact kitchen with washing machine compartment. The large windows open outwards, with furniture designed for both indoor and outdoor use. A corridor leads to the sleeping area, consisting of a double bedroom with en-suite bathroom with shower and a twin bedroom with 2 bunk beds (the upper bed is foldaway) served by a bathroom with shower. Both bedrooms offer direct access to the outside. An external staircase leads to the roof terrace, where there is a hot tub.
Park:
The villa is surrounded by a park of almost 250 sq m, bordered by a wall covered with lush climbing plants. The completely flat park is planted with lawn, lemon trees and flowering shrubs, interspersed with paths and tiled terraces. The French windows of the living area lead to a terrace with the swimming pool and the solarium area, divided between lawn and paving. The dead-end road that hosts this small row of villas has parking for approximately two cars per villa, located just outside the pedestrian gate that leads to the villa via a paved driveway.Please notice that photos are taken in spring, therefore flower blossoming, and the colours of the gardens' grass could be different at the moment of your arrival at the villa.
Swimming Pool:
The swimming pool is just a few steps from the house, in front of the living area. Rectangular and measuring 9.5 x 3.5 m with a constant depth of 1.20 m, it is lined in PVC and has chlorine purification, internal and external lighting (and so can be used at night as well) and submerged steps for access to the water. The surrounding area, dedicated to relaxation. is equipped with sunbeds.on a paved surface while a cold-water shower is located on the lawned part. The pool is available from the last Saturday in April to the first Saturday in October.
