This superb, contemporary villa is positioned on a verdant mountainside in Southern Corsica and boasts panoramic views across the surrounding rugged landscape to Sardinia, just a stone’s thrown across the sea. With easy access to hiking trails and equipped with electric mountain bikes, a paddle board, a private pool and a barbecue, the scene is set for memorable holidays with friends or family.

Designed to be autonomous, integrating solar technology, natural materials, soothing colours and stylish decor, this wooden clad, two storey structure has timeless appeal. At its heart is a luminous, open-plan living space with comfortable seating, a kitchen and dining area - the place to gather for meals and relaxation. Sliding glass doors and large windows open onto the main terrace, an inviting salt water pool and breathtaking views, bringing in light and creating a seamless indoor/outdoor connection. 

The villa comfortably sleeps up to twelve guests in six bedrooms which can be made up as double or twin bedrooms. On the pool level there are three bedrooms, each with its own view, as well as two adjoining bathrooms with Italian showers. The other three spacious, garden level bedrooms each has its own bathroom with an Italian shower. 

Exploring the area is a must, on foot, by paddle board or on electric bikes available at the villa. Sandy La Tour and Chevanu beaches are a walk away or head to the Bruzzi Loop Path for a more vigorous hike along the coastal path and discover a succession of wild beaches and turquoise waters in this natural reserve. Kite surfers will find perfect wind conditions at Kite Beach in the Bay of Figari.

Layout

Open-plan living space with several seating areas, a kitchen equipped with a stainless-steel central island and six bar stools, a kitchen, a pantry, a dining room and a living room with a library. Panoramas from every angle overlook the Bay of Chevanu, the mountains, and all the way to Sardinia.

Pool level (upstairs): Three double bedrooms (which can be made up as twins) each with unique views: the Trinity and Sardinia for one, the Bay of Figari and the mountains for the other, the Bruzzi for the third. Two adjoining bathrooms with Italian showers. Private balcony and dressing room.

Garden level (downstairs): Three twin bedrooms (which can be made up as doubles) with adjoining bathrooms, nestled amongst the maquis and the rocks. The exterior corridors allow for moments of cool solitude while taking in the fragrances of the maquis. Natural light floods through the room from dawn till dusk.

All the beds are 90x200cm and have a system underneath to join or disconnect. The upstairs beds (pool level) are made up as doubles and downstairs beds (garden level) are twins, unless requested otherwise.

Access between the garden level and pool level is possible from both the inside and outside.

Location: The villa is location in Pianottoli-Caldarello in a less explored area known as ‘Caconu’ in South Corsica. It is approximately 20 km away from Bonifacio.  From the villa, it is a 15-20 min walk down to La Tour beach or a 5 minute drive (you may prefer to drive back up depending on fitness levels). You can follow a ridge path on foot to Chevanu Beach and connect up with the Bruzzi Loop Path, a well-known walk that takes you past sandy beaches, streams flowing from the mountainside and the ‘tafoni’ granite boulder stacks.  For the more adventurous, hike up Uomo di Cagna for the satisfaction of breath-taking views from Ajaccio to Bavella. Kitesurfers will love the nearby Bay of Figari or head to Balistra Beach where you will also find a beer and burger shack. You can also go wine tasting and touring at several vineyards in the region, notably the local AOC of Figari is Corsica’s oldest wine producing region. Yves Canarelli’s winery located in nearby Tarrabucetta.

Airports: Figari-Sud Corse (15 minutes).
