The recent renovation of an old ruin, once used as stables, gave rise to Monterzi, a pretty farmhouse perched on top of a hill, in a discreet position in a property surrounded by vineyards and olive trees yet not far from the lively medieval borgo of Montisi, just a short, pleasant walk away, and from San Giovanni d'Asso, famous for the production of the delicious white truffle. During the restoration works, the stone turret, which was originally the main body of the structure, was expanded and completely renovated in accordance with the typical Tuscan style, rendering the interior comfortable and functional. From the top of the hill, on which the house stands, there is an extraordinary 360ยฐ panorama: directly in front of the property, there is the picturesque village of Montisi then, turning oneโs gaze towards the west, there is the magical lunar landscape of the Crete Senesi and then, towards the east oneโs gaze travels slowly across Radicofani, in admiration of the geometry and the ever-changing shades of colours of the entire Val d'Orcia, to Montalcino beneath the towering background of Mount Amiata, creating an impressive backdrop which represents the authentic, seductive essence of the territory of Siena. Thanks to the excellent road network, the house is the perfect starting point for visiting the major art cities of the region, such as Siena and Florence, and the borghi of greater artistic interest, like Montalcino, Pienza, San Quirico d'Orcia, Montepulciano and Trequanda, and also for relaxing at the excellent thermal spas of Rapolano Terme, Bagno Vignoni and San Casciano dei Bagni.
